Brides don't get scammed!
No one likes being scammed... and this is especially true when it has anything to do with your wedding... this is probably the worst possible day to be scammed!
Recently, I have been reading many posts in local bridal groups on Facebook about brides being scammed by so-called "makeup artists".
So, I'd like to take this opportunity share some tips on not getting scammed and identifying red flags when searching for the perfect makeup artist for your big special day:
🚩 If the artist's account is set to private, big red flag!
🚩 Do a reverse Google search of the artist's work to ensure the work they posted is *actually* done by them and not picked up from other sites.
🚩 Ask for recommendations/reviews about the artist in question in your local bridal and wedding groups on Facebook because remember, any business can make fake Google reviews!
🚩 Pay close attention to the details, vocabulary, and policies in the bridal contract, and ask as many questions as possible if in doubt!
🚩 Meet the artist in-person and get a trial done with them... this is the best way to make sure their work is authentic and to your liking!
And lastly, I have seen scam artists charging taxes without even being registered business! Big yikes. Please know if you're paying taxes, the vendor *must* provide you with an HST number!
